Strengthening Newborn Nutrition: Harvard & PATH Visit LIFT-UP Sites Across Uttar Pradesh

The Community Empowerment Lab (CEL) was honored to welcome Ms. Ilana Dzuba (Harvard University) and Ms. Raven Dunstan (PATH) for an insightful observational visit to our LIFT-UP study implementation sites from May 1–5, 2025.

The visit spanned key healthcare institutions, including CHC Sivrajpur and CHC Kalyanpur in Kanpur Nagar, GSVM Medical College Kanpur, IMS-BHU Varanasi, and KGMU Lucknow.

Highlights of the visit included:
✅ Inauguration of a Breast Milk Expression Room at GSVM
✅ Observations of FSP+ (Feeding Support Package Plus) implementation across NICUs, labor rooms, and maternal wards
✅ Promotion of the “Feeding Passport Diary” for monitoring mother-baby feeding routines
✅ Interactive debriefs with hospital leadership to encourage quality improvement

The visit reinforced the value of staff-driven innovations, respectful maternity care, and strengthened hospital-community linkages.
